TimeTracker

Track seat usage and proration details transparently

What it does

What this feature does

What it is

We believe SaaS billing should be completely transparent. Our subscription management dashboard gives you total clarity on your current usage, upcoming charges, and historical invoices for your TimeTracker account.

Who needs this

View proration adjustments instantly when adding seats, ensuring you never face a surprise bill at the end of the month.

Setup

How to set up subscriptions in TimeTracker

Open workspace billing

Open Settings and then Billing. Only an owner or an admin can reach that screen.

Start the subscription

Add a payment method through the checkout to move the workspace off its trial.

Set your seat count

Seats are what you pay for. Adding one charges the difference for the rest of the month.

Manage it from the portal

The billing portal handles payment methods, past invoices and cancelling the plan.

For owners and admins

What admins and owners see

Billing is owner and admin only

Only an owner or admin can open billing, start a checkout, or reach the payment portal.

See the plan the server resolved

The screen mirrors what the server says the workspace is entitled to, not a guess made in the browser.

Know exactly what is wrong

A banner names the real problem, whether a payment failed, the trial ended, or the plan was cancelled.

For your team

What your team sees day to day

Nothing to set up

Your team never sees the billing screen. It only shows for owners and admins.

You will know if editing pauses

If a payment fails, editing pauses for everyone and the banner explains the reason why.

A worked example

Adding one seat mid month

A team plan sits at $15 per seat a month, with 9 of 10 seats used. Adding one more person fills the last seat. The next invoice on Aug 1 moves from $135.00 to $150.00, and $15.00 is charged today to cover the rest of the current month.

Good to know

Limits and edge cases

  • Billing screens are open to owners and admins only.
  • If a payment fails, editing pauses for the whole workspace until it is sorted out.
  • A cancelled subscription leaves your data readable, but not editable.
  • A seat change is charged for the part of the month that is left, not the whole month.
