Migrate historical records in a single click
What this feature does
Switching time tracking tools should not mean losing your history. Import your past time entries, projects, and clients from other popular tools in minutes, and keep every record you already have.
Migrate historical records in a single click. Zero downtime, zero data loss, and immediate continuity for your team.
How to set up integrations in TimeTracker
Open Settings, then Integrations
This is where the Google Calendar connection is made and where its state is shown.
Connect your Google account
You approve the connection with Google. Only the grant is stored, never your password.
Let meetings become blocks
Calendar events are pulled in as time blocks you can turn into entries with one tap.
Set up email notices
Pick which categories reach you by email, so approvals and alerts land where you read them.
What admins and owners see
See the connection state
The settings screen shows whether the calendar is linked, and never shows the stored token.
Disconnect without losing work
Unlinking the calendar leaves the blocks it already brought in exactly where they are.
Get data out any time
A full workspace export covers every table, so your records are never trapped in here.
What your team sees day to day
Your calendar, your choice
The calendar link is made per person, so nobody else connects an account on your behalf.
A meeting is one tap
A pulled in event shows its length, so logging an hour long review takes a single tap.
Popular features
Employee time tracking your team will actually use
One click starts a timer, or people type hours in by hand. Every entry ties to a client, project, and task, so the record stays clean.
Explore Time Tracking→Bill for every hour you earn
Mark each entry billable or non-billable while you work. Approved hours roll straight into reports you can bill from.
Explore Billing→See where the time really goes
Break hours down by client, project, and team member. Find the work that pays off and the projects that run over.
Explore Reports & Dashboards→Expense management software built for client work
Log a cost against the project it belongs to, attach the receipt, and send it for approval. Approved expenses go on the client invoice.
Explore Expenses→Invoicing software that bills from tracked hours
Approved time turns into itemised invoice lines with tax and multiple currencies handled for you. Check it over, then send it.
Explore Invoicing→Keep projects on track and in budget
Define project phases, set budget caps, and track work progress in real-time. See margins and utilization without building reports manually.
Explore Project Management→Configure custom rates for every agreement
Manage complex billing agreements with ease. Set client rates, assign member role pricing, and handle multi-currency projects with zero confusion.
Explore Rates→Timesheets your team submits on time
Hours build into a timecard as people work. Send the week for approval, lock it once it is signed off, and bill from a number that cannot quietly change.
Explore Timesheets→A worked example
A week of meetings, logged
The Google Calendar link runs and finds 18 meetings in the week. Each one becomes a time block, so 18 blocks are created ready to review. You keep the ones that were real work and drop the rest, and nothing is logged until you say so.
Limits and edge cases
- Google Calendar is the only inbound sync. There is no importer for other time tracking tools.
- Notices go out in the app and by email. Slack and push are not switched on.
- There is no public API to build your own connection against yet.
- Payroll and accounting tools are fed by CSV export, not by a direct sync.
Frequently asked questions
- Which tools can I migrate from?
- None automatically. There is no importer for another tracker's data, so historical entries stay where they are or get added by hand. Google Calendar is the one inbound connection, and everything here exports to CSV.
- Is the migration process complicated?
- Not at all. You simply authorize the connection to your old tool, select what you want to import, and click start.
- How long does a migration take?
- Most migrations are completed within a few minutes, although very large accounts with years of data may take up to an hour.
- Will my historical data be changed?
- No, your data is imported exactly as it exists in your old tool. We map it to the corresponding fields in our system.
- Can I import via CSV?
- Yes, if you are migrating from a tool we don't natively support, you can easily upload your data using our standardized CSV templates.
- What happens if the migration fails?
- Our support team actively monitors all migrations. If an issue occurs, we will reach out and help you resolve it manually.
- Do I need to pause time tracking during migration?
- No, you can continue tracking time in our system while the historical data is importing in the background.
- Will my team need to recreate their accounts?
- No, the migration process will automatically create accounts for your team members based on their email addresses in the old system.
- Does the migration include billing rates?
- Yes, we import all historical billing rates and cost rates to ensure your past reports remain accurate.
- Is the migration feature free to use?
- Yes, the migration tool is completely free for all users on all plans.
