Employee time clock app with approvals
Your team clocks in on their own phone. You get one timecard per person per period, with overtime flagged and a sign-off trail you can defend.
Free for up to 3 people. No credit card needed.
What an employee time clock app is
An employee time clock app is the shared record of when your staff started and stopped work. Each person clocks in and out from their phone or a browser. The app turns those punches into a timecard for the pay period, works out overtime and missing days, and routes it to whoever has to approve it. Nobody has to remember anything a week later.
For the person who signs off hours: an owner, a supervisor, an office manager, or whoever gets asked why a paycheck looks wrong.
You are the one who has to answer for it
- You chase four people for their hours on the last day of the period
- One timecard says 14 hours because nobody clocked out
- You approve numbers you cannot actually check
- A month later someone disputes a paycheck and there is no record
- Overtime is a surprise instead of a decision
Hours arrive already added up, with exceptions marked, so approving is a review and not an investigation.
See the setup steps →Look at the approval queue
This is the real app running here. Open the time screens and the approval queue to see what a period looks like before you sign it off.
Draft. Submit when the period is complete.

What changes for you
Approve a period in a few minutes
Open the period and see each person day by day, worked hours beside scheduled hours. Short days, late starts, overtime and missing days are already marked. You approve, ask for changes, or reopen it.
See timesheet approvals→A record that holds up later
Once a period is approved it locks against edits, and every change is recorded with who made it. When someone questions a paycheck six months on, you look it up instead of rebuilding the story from memory.

Four steps, no hardware, and no project for the IT department to schedule.
Create the workspace
Sign up free and name your workspace. Nothing to install on anyone's device.
Invite the people who clock in
Send email invites. They clock in from their own phone or a browser on a shared computer.
Say who approves what
Set the approver for each person, so a finished timecard routes to the right manager automatically.
Approve, then export
Review the period, approve it, and export approved hours to CSV for payroll.
The parts a manager cares about
Only what the product actually does. The gaps are listed further down.
Approval routing
Each timecard goes to the right approver, who can approve it, request changes, or reopen the period.
Exceptions marked for you
Overtime, late starts, short days and missing days are worked out from expected versus actual hours.
Missed clock-out alerts
An open session left running gets flagged and the person is told, so one forgotten punch does not skew the period.
Locked once approved
Approved periods cannot be quietly edited, and every change is recorded with who made it.
Location rules
If a punch should only count from certain places, a rule can block clock-ins from anywhere else.
CSV export for payroll
Export approved timecards, leave and balances, then hand one file to whoever runs payroll.
What we do not do
Being straight with you saves us both a bad month. There is no kiosk mode, so you cannot put a tablet on the wall and have people punch in with a PIN. There is no offline clock-in, so a punch needs a connection. We do not do face scans, fingerprints or screenshots, and we will not add them. There is also no shift builder, so the app compares worked hours to scheduled hours rather than letting you draw a rota.
Employee time clock questions
What managers ask before rolling a clock out to a team.
See full pricing→- How many employees can use the app?
- There is a free plan for a small team and a paid plan at $15 per user a month, billed monthly or yearly. Check current limits on the pricing page before you invite everyone.
- Can employees edit their own hours after clocking out?
- They can fix an entry while the period is still open, and the change is recorded. Once you approve the period it locks, so nothing can be changed after sign-off without it being visible.
- How do I stop people clocking in from home when they should be on site?
- Add a location rule for that place. It can block a clock-in from outside the allowed area using a geofence, IP range and accuracy limit. You can preview which people a rule affects before turning it on.
- What happens when someone forgets to clock out?
- The app notices the session is still open past a threshold and tells the person, so it gets fixed. The open day also shows as an exception on the timecard, so it does not slip through your review.
- Can two managers approve different people?
- Yes. Each person's timecard routes to their own approver, so a supervisor only reviews their own crew rather than the whole company.
- Does it track time off as well as worked hours?
- Yes, on real leave policies with accrual, opening balances, requests and approvals, sitting beside the worked hours. See time off for how balances work.
- Is there an employee monitoring or screenshot feature?
- No, and there will not be. No screenshots, no keystroke logging, no webcam checks. You get an honest record of clock-ins, clock-outs and approvals, which is what payroll and a dispute actually need.
- Can I use it as a wall clock on a shared tablet?
- Not today. There is no kiosk mode or shared-device PIN entry, so everyone clocks in from their own phone or a browser session they sign into.
