What this feature does

What it is

Cut through the noise and stay focused on what matters. Our intelligent alerts and centralized inbox ensure you are instantly notified about critical project updates, pending approvals, and client communications without getting overwhelmed.

Who needs this

Never miss a project update with a centralized inbox that aggregates all important alerts across your entire workspace.

Setup

How to set up alerts & inbox in TimeTracker

Open Settings, then Notifications

You get a grid with one row per category and one column per channel to work through.

Know the starting point

Everything is on for a new person, so you are switching things off rather than hunting them on.

Turn off what you do not need

Untick a channel for a category and that one goes quiet, while the rest carry on.

Watch the bell

Unread items show on the bell, and opening the centre is what marks them as read.

For owners and admins

What admins and owners see

Eight kinds of notice

Categories cover assignment, due and overdue work, mentions, timesheets, budget alerts and more.

Nobody misses the first one

Because everything starts on, a new member cannot quietly miss an approval they never knew about.

Approvals and invoices land here

A timesheet approval or a paid invoice arrives in the same place as everything else.

For your team

What your team sees day to day

One place to check

Assignments, approvals, budget alerts and invoices all arrive in the same list.

Choose in app or email

Each category can reach you in the app, by email, both, or neither. It is your call.

Time Tracking

Employee time tracking your team will actually use

One click starts a timer, or people type hours in by hand. Every entry ties to a client, project, and task, so the record stays clean.

Timesheets

Timesheets your team submits on time

Hours build into a timecard as people work. Send the week for approval, lock it once it is signed off, and bill from a number that cannot quietly change.

A worked example

Three notices, one paid invoice

Karen Whitfield approves a timesheet, and that notice arrives 2 minutes later. A comment on Homepage hero came in an hour ago. Then INV-0044 is paid for $5,436, which lands just now. That takes the unread count on the bell from 2 to 3.

Good to know

Limits and edge cases

  • Notices go out in the app and by email only. Slack and push are not live yet.
  • Every category starts switched on, so quietening things down is something you have to do.
  • The unread badge stops counting at 99 and shows 99+ after that.
  • Turning a category off applies to you alone. It does not change it for anybody else.
