- Most agencies and consultancies target 70 to 85% for billable staff. Higher can mean burnout risk, much lower means billable capacity is going unused.
- What counts as available capacity?
- The hours someone is actually available to work in the period, after holidays and time off. A standard full week is often 40 hours.
- Billable vs billed utilisation?
- This tool measures billable utilisation (hours worked on billable work). Billed utilisation only counts hours you actually invoiced, which is usually a little lower.
