Three products share the Toggl name

Most searches are for plain "Toggl", and that word covers three separate apps with separate prices. Only one of them tracks time.

Toggl Track

The time tracker, and the subject of this page. You start a timer or fill in hours after the fact, tag them to a client and a project, and read the totals back as reports. This is the one people mean when they say a team "uses Toggl".

Toggl Plan

A project planner with timelines and task boards. It shows who is booked on what and when, which is a different job from recording how long the work took. It is bought and billed on its own, so a Track plan does not include it.

Toggl Hire

A hiring tool that screens candidates with skills tests instead of CVs. It has nothing to do with time tracking. If you landed on a Toggl page about test scores and shortlists, you were on Hire, not Track.

Summary, detailed and weekly views break the hours down by person, client, project and tag. Free users get reports. Scheduled reports that land in an inbox need Premium.

Billable rates and budgets

Set an hourly rate per person, project or workspace, then watch a project burn through its estimate and get an alert before it overruns. Starter plan and up.

Timesheet approvals

Someone submits a period and a manager signs it off. On Toggl Track this is a Premium feature, so approvals cost $18 per licence a month once the first-year rate ends.

What it deliberately leaves out

No screenshots, no keystroke logging and no GPS. Toggl markets that as a promise rather than a gap, and for a lot of teams it is the reason to pick it.
