Delete Your Account

TimeTracker is a time tracking app published by Lemaistre Lab Technologies LLP. This page explains how to delete your TimeTracker account, how to delete single pieces of data without closing your account, and what happens to the data afterwards.

There is no form on this page. Deletion is done from inside your own signed-in account, so that nobody can close an account they do not own.

You can delete your account from the TimeTracker mobile app. The steps are:

1. Open the TimeTracker app on your phone.
2. Go to the More tab.
3. Tap Delete account.
4. Read the screen. It lists the workspaces your account belongs to, and it asks you to hand over or destroy any workspace that you are the only owner of.
5. Type the confirmation phrase the screen shows you. The delete button stays switched off until the phrase matches.
6. Tap the button to confirm.

Deletion happens straight away and it is final. There is no undo, no grace period and no way for support to bring the account back.

You can also do this without a phone. The steps are:

1. Sign in to the TimeTracker web app at app.timetracker.in. You have to be signed in, because that is how we know the request comes from you.
2. Open Settings.
3. Open the Profile tab.
4. Scroll to the bottom of that tab. The Delete account card is the last thing on it.
5. Click Delete account.
6. Read the dialog that opens. It lists every workspace the deletion touches. Where you are the only owner of a workspace, it asks who takes it over and you pick a new owner from the members listed.
7. Type the confirmation text the dialog asks for, which is your account email address. The confirm button stays switched off until it matches.
8. Click Permanently delete account.

Settings sits inside the workspace you are signed in to, so the address of that page carries your own workspace name and is different for every reader. Follow the path above from the sign in page rather than typing an address.

A workspace is the shared space your team logs time into. If you are the only owner of a workspace, the deletion screen asks you to choose one of two things before it lets you carry on:

• Hand it over. You make another member the owner. The workspace and its records carry on under them.
• Destroy it. The workspace goes with your account, along with the records inside it.

Workspaces where you are a member but not the sole owner are not affected. Your membership is removed and the workspace itself carries on.

When you delete your TimeTracker account, we delete:

• Your name, your email address and your profile photo. The photo is removed from storage, not just unlinked from your account.
• Your sign in. The account can no longer be used to sign in.
• Your membership of every workspace, so you lose access to all of them.
• Any workspace you chose to destroy as part of the flow, and everything inside it.

Some things survive your account deletion.

• Records the workspace runs on. Time entries, timesheet approvals and invoices stay with the workspace they belong to, as its business records. A workspace bills its clients and pays its people from these, so they outlast your account.
• Your name comes off those records.They are credited to "Deleted user" instead of your name, so the workspace keeps a record it can still use without keeping you in it.
• A workspace you handed over. It carries on under its new owner, with its records intact.
• A note that the account was closed. We keep a small record that the account existed and was closed, including when and why. It holds no name, email address or photo. We keep it so the account cannot be silently reused, and so the closure can be audited.
• Data we are required to hold. We may keep records where the law needs us to, for tax, accounting or to settle a dispute.

A workspace you chose to destroy during the flow is the exception. It goes with your account and takes the records inside it.

Your account and the data listed above are removed from the app immediately. When an account is closed or a workspace is deleted, the underlying data is deleted or anonymised within 30 days, unless retention is required for compliance or auditing.

You do not have to close your TimeTracker account to remove data. You can delete single records from inside the TimeTracker app and keep the account open.

Delete a time entry

1. Open the TimeTracker app and find the time entry.
2. Swipe the row.
3. Choose Delete.

Delete a task

1. Open the task in the TimeTracker app.
2. Choose Delete task.

What you cannot delete yourself. A time entry that has been approved is locked, and the person who logged it cannot delete it. Approval is what turns a timesheet into a record of work, so it stops being a private draft at that point.

Ask us to erase it. For anything you cannot remove in the app, email privacy@timetracker.in and tell us what you want erased. We may need to check who you are before we act on an emailed request, so that nobody can erase another person's records.

What happens to the data. A record you delete this way is removed from the app straight away. It is then deleted or anonymised within 30 days, unless we are required to keep it for legal, tax, accounting or dispute-resolution reasons. Your TimeTracker account, your profile and everything you did not delete stay exactly as they are.

If you have lost access to your account and cannot reach the delete screen, email privacy@timetracker.in from the address on the account and tell us what you want deleted.

We may need to verify your identity before we act on an emailed request. An email address on its own is not proof of ownership, and acting without that check would let one person delete another person's work.
